Storyboarding is like the cousin of comic book illustration. You are telling stories with a series of images. So, after studying camera shots, pacing, and various other aspects of film at the Art Institute, storyboarding was a natural transition for me. I have done a wide variety of storyboard work from full color, more detailed boards for TV ads to the rough and chaotic deadlines of film production. The Haven Killings was a horror film directed by Rob Rippberger. We did the first few scenes in full color and more detail to take to producers. Later during pre-production I created the rest of the storyboards in a quicker, rough format mainly for Rob’s use and for the Director of Photography.

This was an add put together and directed by Ed Voorhees. TV storyboards tend to often be in full color because you are showing them to executives and ad agencies.
