The Webcomic List Comic Rank

Pages

Ah comics! I love making comics. Telling stories with pictures has been around since the ancient Egyptians and is still alive today. Obviously movies are a form of telling stories with pictures. Those pictures just happen to flash at a speed of 30 frames a second into your brain so quickly that it looks like fluid movement. Comic books tell stories but leave much more to the imagination of the reader. You truly do read the images. Below you will find some examples of comic book pages I have worked on. I do penciling, inking, and digital coloring. If you have a comic book project that you need art for feel free to contact me. iam@mattcampbellart.com

Electron Boy
The Electron Boy comic book was a project that is near and dear to my heart. There is a real boy in Seattle named Erik Martin who is fighting cancer and a number of other physical ailments. When the Make-A-Wish Foundation came to him and asked him what he wanted, he did not say he wanted to meet someone famous. He did not say he wanted to go to Disneyland. He said, “I want to be a superhero and save people.” So the Make-A-Wish Foundation went all out and turned him into Electron Boy. You can watch the events of that day on video here.

Well Rob Bass, a writer for CCP comics and good friend of mine said that every hero needs a comic, so without hesitation we went to work on creating one. I penciled the pages and colored most of them and several other CCP artists pitched in to help as well. A couple of months later we were flying out to Seattle to meet Erik and show him his comic. The expression on his face and his level of excitement made it all worth it. We now sell this comic and all the proceeds go back to the Martin family which they then donate to the Make-A-Wish foundation. Below you will find the colored pages from the Electron Boy comic as well as the original art. Just click on any thumbnail to see the larger image.
