Mythica rough cut comic cover by Matt Campbell

Set in the early years of WW1, Mythica is an epic comic series based on of a group of individuals called descendants, trying to stop a demonic invasion. As war in Europe is erupting, people all over the planet are discovering special abilities. The Queen of the Underworld seeks to destroy these people before they can learn to use their powers and stop her plans to overtake the human realm. The few who survive her attacks band together and learn that they are actually descendants of demi-gods. Under the guidance of a watcher named Soradees, they learn to use their powers so they can stop the threat of the destruction of the human race. Things become more complicated for the descendants when governments and military leaders discover that there are people with powers. Now they are on the run from the very people they are trying to save.

This comic book series is not only going to be epic but also fun! It has amazing characters with special abilities trying to learn how to use their powers. A pirate ship called “Othila” made of the bones and scales of a Dracken (that’s a cross between a Dragon and a Kracken, duh) These characters come to live on this ship trying to learn to trust each other and work together. This makes for a lot of tension when you cross a spy, a military commander, 2 mercenaries, a cruise ship cook, a 16 yr old girl, and 2 stoner race car mechanics.

There is also a lot of action in this comic! The Queen of the Underworld is trying to start a revolution! She is using every beasty in her arsenal from Vampires, to wraiths and every sort of nasty demon you can imagine to take over the Earth realm. Our heroes not only have to fight all of these nasties but also deal with German spies, American special agents and even the Italian mob chasing after them to get what they have.

Here is a sneak peak at some of the characters of Mythica:

Kimberly Bradshaw
Kimberly Bradshaw is a young Belgian girl with simple dreams of finding a good man, getting married, having children, and being a good mom and wife. A dream that seems to be in motion as she has a fiancé named Yosef who is studying to be a psychologist. Things quickly change for Kimberly as she learns she has a much bigger role to play and is forced to face things she never imagined.

Captain Magnus MacDracken
Magnus MacDracken is a Captain of a Scottish highland regiment unit called the Black Watch.  Magnus is a brilliant tactician and a fierce highland warrior and even received the Queen’s Commendation  for Bravery, as well as the Queen’s Commendation for valuable service for his leadership during the series of insurgent attacks in North Babel.  During his squad’s return home from enemy territory in Belgium he and his crew are attacked and his special abilities begin to manifest themselves. On top of increased speed and strength he has the ability to make his body so dense that he is nearly impenetrable. As descendents begin to emerge around the globe he finds them looking to him for leadership. A role he is reluctant to take after losing so many men in battle in previous wars.

“Red” Riley Scott

Riley Scott is a feisty red headed Irish woman and is often referred to as “Red”. Her background is a bit of a mystery to the rest of the team but bits and pieces of her past as a double agent spy are revealed throughout the series. She has a lot of knowledge and experience with ships and the sea and thus often pilots the Othila. She speaks several languages and is a master of disguise. She is well trained in many hand to hand combat techniques and is a very good shot with her revolver. Her new found ability to make herself and anything she is holding intangible makes her even more deadly.

I will be posting more characters and profiles throughout the next few weeks so keep watching!
